Sports Academies

Our sports academies are a valuable part of many students' experiences at St. Francis. In fact, many students come to St. Francis with an academy as their prime interest at school! Among our alumni, we have athletes who have gone onto post-secondary play, played professionally, appeared in the WHL, and some have been scouted by the NHL. This is quality programming at its best!

We offer Soccer Academy for grade 9 students, and have introduced  Soccer option for grade 7 and 8 students (no academy fees involved). The St. Francis Soccer Academy will challenge the student to play the game at the highest level under a Catholic academic setting. At St. Francis we believe that for an athlete to be truly successful, they must learn to balance the academic and the athletic portions of their schooling career.

In addition, our Soccer Academy plays within the Lethbridge Minor Soccer League, attends a referee course to earn certification to referee house league games, trains every day in a "team" setting, and receives a soccer uniform, tracksuit, and back pack.

Hockey Academy is for grade 8 and 9 St. Francis athletes and the Hockey Program is for grade 7 St. Francis students.  The grade 7 program begins before the regular school day, but does not interfere with the regular school schedule. Your school should have printed materials to share with you, or you can stop by our office to pick some up.
