St. Francis Junior High School's Parent Orientation page

Parent Orientation

We want our parents to be involved at St. Francis. Think about it - your child can easily spend more than 10 hours a day at school between classes and co-curricular activities! That is a lot of influence on your child's life!

Annually, we host a 'Meet the Teacher' Night at the end of September where our parents can put faces to names, tour the school, and learn more about what makes our school tick. All are welcome!

To share information with our grade 6 parents, and other prospective parents, we host a St. Francis Showcase in February prior to new year enrolment. For this event, students guide parents through essential information, and plan some fun activities, too.

On the third Monday of each month, all interested parents are invited to attend a School Council meeting. Here, you can ask the Principal questions about how things work, learn more about our school's budget, and come together for community-building events. The more the merrier, and the more you'll know what goes on when your child is not at home!

In September 2016, the Holy Spirit school division moved to Power School for all student reporting. This program is accessible by parents and student to see all assignments and marks on a daily basis. The link is on the front page of this website. Contact the office for help to log on to Power School. Report cards are issued quarterly on Power School.

We ask all parents to sign up for electronic communication and provide the school with an email address as email is the medium we use to keep parents up to date with all events including monthly newsletters.
